International Languages Day - 26th September 2006
Dominican College held their Monday morning assembly as usual
but this time there was a slight difference to the normal
assembly procedure. As the 26th of September was International Languages Day,
the Languages teachers organised a variety of pupils who
attend Dominican College to introduce themselves to the school
community in English and also in their native tongue.
The assembly was treated to a wide range of introductions
including Irish, French, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Cantonese, Bulgarian,
Swedish, Serbian and Indian.
During the lunch break there was also a quiz held in the
Library. Sixteen teams of Year 8, 9 and 10 students, about
eighty in all, were asked questions about Ireland, France and
Spain. The quiz was organised principally by the Lower 6th
French class.
Many thanks to all those who were helped organise the event and
also to all those who took part in the quiz.
