YEAR 14 VISIT FLOWERFIELD ARTS CENTRE
As part of their CRE programme, Year 14 visited the newly
reopened Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart where the
Assistant Centre Manager, Anthony Toner, explained the
wonderful facilities now available.
At a refurbishment cost of £2.1 million, the Centre now hosts
concerts and events to suit all tastes. The state of the art teaching
facilities in crafts and digital media took our breath away!
The old Georgian House where many Portstewart children spent
Saturday mornings at pottery classes has been incorporated
into the scheme which includes a purpose built 150 seater
auditorium.
Last month, in the upper gallery, there was a spectacular
photographic exhibition by one of our past pupils - Maeve O
Hara. Maeve is now on a gap year in Australia.
