At today's assembly the year 8 soccer team were presented with their trophy and medals by Dr Cummings.

The team , pictured here with their successful coach, Mr Crutchley, were given superb support from three senior pupils, Chris Owens,Colum Harris and Tiarnan Quinn.

On Wednesday the team were crowned champions of the local B group after a closely contested final which they won by a single goal scored by Scott Watton.

This is the second successive year that the first year team have won their league.

Yesterday the Year 11 and 12 team saw their final against St Joseph's go all the way to extra time and penalties. Not even five penalties aside could break the deadlock and both teams agreed to take the highly unusual decision "shake on it" and share the victory.
